2nd Global Conference on Emerging Trends in Business Librarianship

Due to its innovative character on the use of the latest trends technoligies, ie Library has been invited among a selected Business School group reknowned worldwide, including Harvard Business School, Singapore Management University, University of Oxford, The University of Auckland, Vienna University of Economics and Business, Aarhus University Denmark, German National Library of Economics, IIM Ahmedabad, to the 2nd Global Conference on Emerging Trends in Business Librarianship, hosted by the Indian School of Business, in Mohali, India.

The core themes of the conference where trend and emerging technologies, digital technologies applied to education and learning and the management, development of the library spaces and services. Several distinguised professionals shared their point of view on work flows and experiences such as Anil K Gupta and H. Anil Kumar, both from the Indian Institute of Management en Ahmedabad with their lectures Knowledge Managers, Pollinators or Churners: Rethinking Libraries for Next Century, and Emerging Issues & Challenges for Indian Business School Libraries respectively or Gina de Alwis, from Singapore Institute of Management Library through her exposition The Missing Link: User Engagement (UE) and User Experience (UX) in Library Design among others.

Within this frame ie Library presented it latest technologies, emphasizing its APP, that improves the user experience with the access to the materials, printed and online, My ie Library Account, that won the Library Spotlight award, given by the biggest library consortium worldwide. 

In addition, the library presented it latest technological project: Social Bubbles, related to the sensorial immersion. The purpose of the Project is the active interaction of the use ron the access and use of the library’s materials of any kind as well as the perception and the interaction with the information through Big Data.

All the lectures and workshops about negotiation and leadership skills celebrated during the congress, pointed out how the business libraries are adapting to the digital future throughout the sharing of experiences knowledge and resources for the mutual benefit, which translates into a better academic experience.
