European Business School Librarians' Group conference 2017
As a member of the EBSLG (European Business School Librarians 'Group), ie Library has participated in the last annual group meeting, held at the Technology and Innovation Centre, of the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland.
On this last meeting, the Congress dug into the theme Library "Connections: Collaboration. Co-operation. Communication" with lectures like "Lessons from connections: building sustainable relationships in a disruptive world" from the National Library for Scotland or the one carried out by the Economist Intelligence Unit (available on our Virtual Library),that takes part in the research and analysis división of The Economist (accessible from the Online Press section)“Global Outlook for 2017”.
During the Congress, there were held work sessions to discuss the odds that face the Libraries of the future, in which the ie Library introduced its Vertical library and Smart Areas concepts and the new functionalities of My ie Library Account APP and the latest trend technologies implemented such as ie Tags Beat or Pepper the robot.
In addition, also workshops such as "Designing a Cultural Probe" took place and the sharing of experiences and good practices of other international institutions, like the GIBS Business School in SouthAfrica.
To top it all off, the assistants had the chance to participate in cultural visits to the Kelvin Hall, that makes its service to the University of Glasgow, the National Library of Scotland and the Mitchell Library, one of Europe’s largest public library and to a typical Scotish distillery.
