EBSLG Continental Meeting 2018
IE Library has participated in the Continental Meeting of EBSLG, organized by IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland. The meeting focused this time on a common debate on the interests of our academic libraries, supported by the Global Signals workshop, an initiative in which different social, economic, political and technological aspects of different topics are analyzed, as a guiding thread to detect problems, solutions and new ideas, which can serve as a boost to the participating libraries.
In addition, initiatives used in the IMD library were presented, such as the Share point system and possible applications on Augmented Reality.
HSG-Bibliothek library of the University of St. Gallen, presented its virtual bookshelf of ebooks, a system to give visibility to electronic books. IE Library presented its new videos related to technologies, projects focused on cutting-edge technologies, the new APP and the Smart Station, the robot Pepper as a library assistant , IE Tag Beats, Leap Motion and virtual reality glasses, opening the debate on the technological future that involves the librarian world.
A visit to the Library at the Graduate Institute of International and development studies in Geneva, crowned the event.
The purpose of the EBSLG is to provide members with a forum for discussion around topics of interest; to promote a network of co-operation and assistance among the member libraries; and to enable the mutual exchange of information that can enhance the support services the libraries provide to their respective institutions.
