On December 2nd, the IEU Library welcomed Mariam Katsanashvili and Dea Magalashvili, Young Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Spain for a special visit. This event marked the continuation of Dea’s cultural initiative, “Sakartvelo Taro”/Georgia’s Shelf, which began with a donation to the Biblioteca de Catalunya and now extends to the IE University Libraries in Madrid and Segovia. Through this initiative, several Georgian books were donated to enrich the library’s multicultural collection, offering a valuable insight into Georgia’s rich history, literature, and culture.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dea Magalashvili for her commitment to promoting Georgian heritage internationally, and to Mariam Katsanashvili for her invaluable support. Her involvement underscores the importance of collaboration between the Young Ambassador and the IE Library in creating meaningful cultural connections.

These books will soon be incorporated into the IE Library collection, creating opportunities for students, staff, and visitors to connect with Georgia’s vibrant cultural legacy.

As the Georgian community at IE University continues to grow, these resources provide a sense of familiarity and belonging for Georgian students, while allowing others to explore and appreciate Georgia’s unique heritage.
