SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

The UN approved in 2015 the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development, an opportunity for countries and their societies to embark on a new path with which to improve the lives of all, without leaving anyone behind. The Agenda has 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which include the elimination of poverty to the fight against climate change, education, women’s equality, the defense of the environment, or the design of our cities.

The Statement on libraries and sustainable development issued in Glasgow by IFLA´s Environmental Sustainability and Libraries Special Interest Group declares sustainable development as a concern to libraries as it relates to equal access to information, multiculturalism, education, free thought, and general democratic values.

IE Sustainability Office is on a mission to mainstream sustainability into all aspects of IE University, from curriculum design and everyday operations to organizational culture.

Our Library offers a wide range of products and services that promote the achievement of each one of the 17 SDGs . The Library demonstrates its involvement and commitment to society following the IE Strategy.
