Following the BIBAR meeting hosted at the Creative Campus in February, the Guillermo & Michèle de la Dehesa Library (IEU Library) welcomed members of the Segovia Libraries and Archives Group (BIBAR) to IE University’s Segovia campus for another opportunity to exchange knowledge, share experiences and strengthen professional ties.
The visit included a guided tour led by Pablo Arribas from IE University’s Archaeology Unit, offering participants an opportunity to discover the campus and its historical heritage.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the evolving role of libraries and archives. IEU Library shared its approach to innovation and examples of its collaboration with other institutions in areas such as research, technology, sustainability and gender equality. These discussions highlighted the value of sharing expertise and identifying common challenges and opportunities across institutions.
Building on this exchange, BIBAR will continue exploring opportunities for joint initiatives. The group’s next meeting will take place online, with a focus on sharing best practices, organising joint training sessions with experts and identifying ways to increase awareness of library and archive services within the local community.

For IEU Library, participation in BIBAR is part of a broader commitment to institutional cooperation and knowledge sharing. By fostering sustained relationships among Segovia’s libraries, archives and cultural institutions, the network supports professional development, encourages collaborative projects and helps bring the University’s expertise and activities closer to the wider community.
