In June, our Library directors had the opportunity to participate in the EBSLG 2024 Annual Conference held in Praga. The meeting covered the traditional concept of libraries to embrace dynamic, multifunctional spaces that foster collaboration, innovation, and learning beyond the books, the essence of what constitutes a library as a space is being redefined. The aim was to explore alternative library spaces, learning hubs, and academic coworking spaces, and the synergies they can bring to the business schools.
The conference’s goal was to uncover the potential of these spaces in facilitating cross-disciplinary collaboration, supporting community building, and enhancing the overall academic experience. Workshops provided actionable insights into designing these environments based on the diverse needs of students, faculty, and external community members.
The EBSLG is a network of library directors, managers, or senior staff from academic libraries attached to, or serving, accredited, world-ranked European business schools, or institutions offering world-ranked MBA or EMBA programs.
The purpose of the EBSLG is to provide members with a forum for discussion around topics of interest; to promote a network of co-operation and assistance among the member libraries, and to enable the mutual exchange of information that can enhance the support services the libraries provide to their respective institutions.
