IEU LIBRARY ATTENDS THE XXI ANNUAL REBIUN CONFERENCE AND XX WORKSHOPS

In May 2024, our IEU’s Library Directors attended the XXI Annual Rebiun Conference at the University of Jaén. Rebiun has hosted, for the first time, the annual meeting of directors of university libraries. This meeting continues the work line that has characterized the Conference all these last years: teamwork, agreements, institutional collaborations and more. Following the news that the National Open Science Strategy has brought us, this year’s meeting is rightly combined with the Digital Projects Workshop, which is related to the new global information society: the digital age.

In the frame of the conference, they have also participated in the XX Digital Workshops, about the role of the repositories in the National Open Science Strategy.

Right now, Open Science is one the most important fields for evaluating scientific production. The Libraries are in a continuing change, right now we have to develop a new library model that is necessary to develop new guides, implement regulations, organize services and launch projects, among others.

The solidity and professionalism of library work is even more necessary today and we must be the support and pillar of the University to make Science open, transparent, sustainable and supportive.

Our directors have learned about the crucial role of university libraries in the treatment of scientific information. Repositories have become essential tools for disseminating these types of publications to all citizens. Over the course of two days, they participated in a space for the practical exchange of ideas and experiences on these topics during the workshops.

The Library manifests its involvement and commitment to society following the IE Strategy, and this is a great example of SDG #4, related to high education. The IEU Library usually participates in the latest events related to university and specialized libraries to bring the IEU Community the best services.
