The Guillermo & Michèle de la Dehesa Library has officially inaugurated its new space at the Creative Campus, marking an important milestone for the academic and creative community of IE University. The opening event brought together staff from the School of Architecture and Design, and once classes had finished, students also joined us to discover the library and its services firsthand.
The library is located in a unique environment within a historic building that forms part of Segovia’s architectural heritage. This setting reflects the Creative Campus’s commitment to blending tradition and innovation, offering a space where history, creativity, and learning coexist in a meaningful way.
The new Library space offers a carefully curated collection of more than 3,000 printed monographs, nearly 30 print journals, and access to over 100 million electronic resources through our catalog, which brings together a vast range of academic and research materials. In addition, users have access to services such as interlibrary loan and dedicated research support, reinforcing the library’s role as a key partner in teaching, learning, and research.
The event was attended by members of the School of Architecture and Design staff, who had the opportunity to learn more about the library, its collections, and the range of services available to support teaching, learning, and research within the Creative Campus.
The Dean, David Goodman, was also present and highlighted the importance of this inauguration, stating: ““We always dreamed of this space as more than a place for keeping materials, but as a teaching tool, a space for study and for creation.”
The Director of the IEU Library, Alicia Fátima Gómez, also addressed attendees, emphasising that “The library is not just a place to pick up a book; it is a space for meeting, generating ideas, sharing, and conversation.”
The IEU Library would like to thank everyone for attending the inauguration and sharing this special moment. We hope this new space will serve as a source of inspiration for both students and faculty, supporting creativity, collaboration, and academic excellence at the Creative Campus. The Creative Campus Library is open from 10:15 am to 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:45 pm (Monday to Friday), and the IEU Library team is available to support the community with access to resources, services, and research guidance.
