Earth Month at IEU Library: Sustainability Books, ESG Resources & Community Initiatives

This April, IEU Library marked Earth Month with a series of initiatives designed to promote sustainability, raise awareness, and support the community’s engagement with environmental topics.

At both María de Molina and Segovia campuses, the Library hosted curated book exhibitions focused on sustainability and environmental awareness. These displays brought together a diverse selection of titles covering key issues such as climate change, biodiversity, sustainable development, and responsible living. By making these resources visible and accessible, the Library encouraged reflection and inspired conversations around our shared responsibility toward the planet.

To complement the physical exhibitions, a curated collection of eBooks was also made available, allowing users to explore sustainability topics anytime and from anywhere. This combination of physical and digital resources ensured broader access and continued learning beyond the library space.

In addition, IEU Library introduced a new Sustainability & ESG filter within its E-resources and Databases section. This functionality enabled users to quickly identify relevant databases and specialised content related to environmental, social, and governance topics, streamlining the research process and supporting more focused academic work.

As part of its commitment to sustainability beyond access to information, the Library also contributed books through Bookcrossing to Second Life at IE: The Marketplace. This initiative promoted reuse and encouraged a more circular approach to consumption within the IE community.

Through these actions, IEU Library reinforced its role in supporting both learning and responsible engagement with our shared environment.
