Yesterday we organized at IEU our first Open Science: Meet & Greet Sessions where researchers from various disciplines gathered over coffee to discuss key aspects about Research Data Management and FAIR Data, and why and how to be with European and national regulations.
The event was led by Raúl Aguilera, Director of the Library at Universidad Carlos III, and Alicia Fátima Gómez, Director of the Library at IE University, who shared valuable perspectives on Open Science practices.
The session covered essential topics such as ensuring data is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR), how to achive this goal, and how to appropriately apply the appropriate licenses to facilitate data sharing and reuse. Participants actively engaged in the discussion, asking about practical challenges in making their data open and FAIR. The positive response highlighted the value of these sessions in fostering knowledge exchange and supporting researchers in adopting Open Science practices.
